Colophon

How this site is built

A single developer, a small dependency list, and a preference for fast pages over clever ones. This is what runs under the hood — and the principles it refuses to compromise on.

The deal with visitors

Three promises this website makes to everyone who lands on it.

No accounts, no gates

Everything on this site is readable without signing up for anything. There is nothing to log into, nothing to join — you just browse.

Privacy-conscious analytics

Visitor counting is anonymous and aggregate: page paths and daily totals only. No IPs, no cookies for tracking, no visitor profiles — ever.

Content stays exportable

Every application, feature, roadmap note and screenshot lives in a plain database the owner can back up to a single JSON file and restore anywhere. Visitors get a slice of that too: a read-only JSON API mirrors the published collection, filters included.

The stack

Boring on purpose. Each layer is mainstream, well-documented and fun to maintain.

TypeScript

Framework

Next.js + React

App Router with server rendering for every page, so content is in the HTML before any script runs.

Design tokens

Styling

Tailwind CSS + shadcn/ui

A warm, token-based theme with accessible primitives — the same components styled light and dark by default.

No ORM

Data

MongoDB

The official driver with plain typed documents for applications, categories, tags, features, roadmap items and screenshots. One owner, one dashboard.

Reduced-motion safe

Motion

Framer Motion

Small, purposeful transitions — reveals, hover lifts and scroll progress — always disabled for reduced-motion visitors.

Sharp

Social previews

Generated OG images

Every application page renders its own social card on the fly, tinted with that app's accent color.

RSS 2.0

Syndication

RSS everywhere

A feed for the whole collection plus one per category, auto-discoverable from the page head. No reader account required.

Small details worth noticing

  • Keyboard-first: ⌘K search, G-prefixed jumps and a ? cheat sheet
  • Structured data (JSON-LD) on every application and category page
  • Responsive from 320px phones to ultrawide desktops
  • Deep-linkable filters — share a URL that opens pre-filtered

Enough about this website — see the websites I ship.

Every application in the collection has its own page with features and a roadmap.
